our story
IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
Perform-Ability started when a beautiful young girl with hearing impairments and Down Syndrome, enrolled into Centre Stage Performing Arts in 2009. Her presence made every class rewarding and she absolutely lit up the stage at her end of year concert. Her mother mentioned to the principal that there were no dance programs around for people with disabilities… well that soon changed!
The principal of Centre Stage Performing Arts, Miranda Daisy, founded Perform-Ability in 2010. We now have over 20 classes running in many locations throughout Newcastle, the Central Coast and Sydney, with more than 120 students attending each week!
Our Mission is to make Perform-Ability a national and international program, bringing the joy of music and dance to people everywhere!
About Our Founder…
Miranda Daisy is the founder of Perform-Ability and has been teaching students with disabilities for 11 years. After completing her Diploma of Music Theatre from Brent Street Studios in 2013, Miranda worked in Japan as an entertainer with Universal Studios. Upon return, she was a guest teacher at the Regional Institute Of Performing Arts - TAFE as a part of their Dance For Wellbeing course specializing in tuition for students with disabilities. For the past four years, Miranda has been working closely with her Perform-Ability students and teachers to develop Australia’s first Dance For Inclusion ™️ course for instructors.
Miranda is a strong advocate in the disability community and attends numerous meetups and events, which heavily promote inclusion in the performing arts space.

Perform Ability is an all inclusive performing arts program specialising in therapy-based classes. Our main studio is located in Wyong and we have two smaller studios in Abermain and Maryland NSW.
