World Down Syndrome Awareness Day!
Happy World Down Syndrome Awareness Day!
Every year on 21 March, we celebrate World Down Syndrome Awareness Day—a day to recognise the incredible individuals with Down syndrome and to promote understanding, acceptance, and genuine inclusion. It’s more than just recognising the day; it’s about taking real steps to create a society where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported.

At Perform Ability, we see firsthand the joy, talent, and determination our students bring to our programs. Their love for the performing arts and beyond shows why inclusive spaces matter. When everyone has the opportunity to participate, express themselves, and be celebrated, the entire community benefits. That’s why we collaborate with professionals, community organisations, advocacy groups, and disability support networks to create meaningful opportunities for dancers of all abilities.

To celebrate World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, we’re adding a splash of fun! From 17 to 21 March, we are wearing odd socks to show our support. Why odd socks? Because differences should be embraced, and what better way to start the conversation than with something playful and visual? We invite you to join us—put on your mismatched socks, snap a photo, and share it to help spread awareness!
Every small action matters. Every conversation that raises awareness, every moment of support, and every commitment to inclusivity makes a difference. By celebrating World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, we’re not just participating in a tradition—we’re making a statement. We’re standing together, embracing differences, and building a world where every individual is valued and given the opportunity to thrive.
Let’s keep learning, listening, and working together—because inclusion starts with all of us. Are you in?
